Performance Test
One attempt at the required performance test is included in the cost of the course (a $350 value).
Integrity Welding’s approach to preparing applicants for the City of Los Angeles certified welder application consists of two distinct components:
- Preparation for the written examination
- Approximately 25-1/2 hours of classroom time split across nine sessions
- Engaging lectures which thoroughly explain the (a) required welding concepts and (b) efficient use of the AWS D1.1 code book
- Quizzes and tests which provide (a) exposure to almost 200 sample questions and (b) practice in a realistic testing environment
- One attempt at the required performance test
Note: Our training program includes no hands-on shop time to practice your welding skills
Our City of Los Angeles Certified Welder Written Test prep course meets for nine sessions:
- 3 hours each
- 10 minute break
- Final 45 minutes (approximately) dedicated to sample questions
- Homework (marking-up code book, welding symbol practice, etc.)

Applicants must bring the appropriate Structural Steel Welding Code published by the American Welding Society (AWS) covering the scope of their examination. As such, all participants enrolled in the our City of Los Angeles Certified Welder Written Test prep course receive a copy of AWS D1.1: Structural Welding Code - Steel, 2010 edition.
